Daniel Josier, born as a brand in 2014, by the hand of its namesake author Daniel Josier. The names of his creations may make us think of classic fragrances, nothing could be further from the truth, they are creative, modern, but without stridency and adapt to our skin in a perfect symbiosis.
Under the shade of a tree, many of us may have been sitting at some point in our lives. And that situation is the main inspiration for Under the Figtree, an ode to adolescence and the journey to maturity.
Daniel Josier has a beautiful memory of his adolescence, sitting on the grass under a fig tree in his parents’ garden, doing his school homework with his ever-faithful dog, Barry. A situation that repeated itself over time.
A couple of years ago, Daniel had an inspiring dream, and it was that in his oneiric world that memory emerged, but distorted through the power of imagination.
He was under the shelter of that same fig tree, but it was no longer in front of his parents’ house, or his friend Barry. She had by her side a red cellophane dress, and a hill, where at the top she could see a majestic Encina (it is a feminine name in Spanish, the English translation would be “holm oak”).
Encina is her best friend, someone she can always count on. Representing his passage from adolescence through the fig tree, and maturity through the holm oak.
This is how Daniel Josier’s Under the Figtree was born.
