The Black Knight is an intense and sophisticated Gothic perfume, inspired by the historical character Giovanni Dalle Bande Nere (John of the Black Bands), an Italian Renaissance condottiero who belonged to the glorious Medici family.
A character with a stoic commitment to his cause, his loyalty and his Spartan way of life, despite his noble origins.
The perfume tries to represent the atmosphere of a military camp, starting with the smell of the wild bushes, then the smoke of the camp fire and the smell of the horses’ tack.
The evolution then delves deeper into the soul of this dour character, revealing the presence of a secret lover, with a powdery rose rounding out the deep vetiver core.
Francesca wanted to combine both the uncompromising and the human aspects of this fascinating character in a dark, medieval and meditative scent.
Olfactory notes: artemisia, caraway, honey, Bulgarian rose, narcissus, lily butter, beeswax, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, oakmoss and leather.
