The fragrances of the Mutis Nueva Granada brand ooze the languid and sensual atmosphere of those equatorial territories.
That feeling of suspension of time and expansion of space immortalized by Nobel Prize for Literature winner Gabriel Garcia Márquez, also a son of Colombia.
Thanks to the Magic Realism which pervades through his work, Márquez made his home country popular around the whole world.
Selva Negra is the most mysterious and dark fragrance of the collection. This scent takes us back to the source of the Amazon River, in the depths of the equatorial forest, close to the myth of the Snake Man and his tale of unrequited love. Burned by the girl’s parents who opposed their relationship, their pain generated a darkness that still pervades the forest.
The fragrance is rich in precious woody accords, with notes of South American Orchid, and its olfactory evolution recalls the slow course of the river along its dark bends.
Selva Negra stands out for its overwhelming sensuality, reminiscent of certain dark and electric atmospheres of the film Fitzcarraldo, in which a sinister and bewitching nature dominates the destiny of human lives.
Top notes: sampaguita and mandarin.
Heart notes: cashmere, orchid and precious woods.
Base notes: amber and white musk.
