SHIPPING AND RETURNS POLICY

From the moment you choose a fragrance to when it arrives at your home, we make sure everything meets the standards you deserve. We understand how important it is for you to receive your products safely and quickly, which is why we’ve designed our shipping and returns policies to offer you a transparent, straightforward service with no surprises.
We want you to feel supported at every moment, and that any question or concern you have is addressed with the personalized attention that defines us. We would love for your experience with Daring Light to be as special for you as it is for us to select and offer each fragrance.
Below, we explain how we handle shipments, delivery times, and how to proceed if you need to make a return. We are here to assist you at every step, so if you need anything else, don’t hesitate to contact us.
Transit Times:
At Daring Light, we understand that unforeseen circumstances can affect delivery times. Factors such as logistical issues or adverse weather conditions may cause delays. While we do our best to meet the estimated timelines, in exceptional cases, we kindly ask for your understanding and patience. We will keep you informed about your order’s status and offer personalized assistance at all times. Marked with * in the table.
If you need to receive your order urgently, even to destinations not covered in our express shipping policy, we can arrange it upon request. Simply contact us, and we will find the best solution to meet your needs.
Please note that express shipping is an exclusive service and is not offered for free under any circumstances. However, Daring Light is committed to covering any additional costs that may arise from unexpected weight variances, ensuring a fair and transparent shopping experience.
Important Information About Transit Times During Holiday Seasons
During holiday periods, especially Christmas, transit times may be affected due to the high volume of shipments handled by courier services. As a result, the usual delivery time for standard shipments within Spain (48/96 hours) might be extended.
If you need your order urgently, we recommend choosing an express shipping method, as these are generally given priority and are more likely to meet delivery deadlines compared to standard shipping options.
Taxes and Delivery to Specific Destinations:
Orders to the Canary Islands, Ceuta, Melilla, Switzerland, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, the United Kingdom, Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro are exempt from Spanish VAT (21%). However, customers will be responsible for local taxes and any applicable customs charges. If these are not paid and the package is returned, we will refund the order amount, deducting shipping and return costs, even if the shipping was free due to reaching the order minimum. Marked with *² in the table.
We operate under the Incoterm DAP (Delivered At Place), which means the courier will contact you before delivering the package so that you can pay the applicable taxes and duties.
Why do we handle it this way instead of the usual model where you pay upon delivery? Because we’ve experienced issues where taxes were not paid, and the charges ended up falling back on us.
For some destinations, it is mandatory to provide a national ID number or DNI before shipping can proceed. No shipments will be made without this information.
Shipping within the European Union (EU):
For orders within the EU, the destination country’s tax rate will be applied according to the One-Stop Shop (OSS) regulations. These taxes will automatically be reflected in your shopping cart during checkout. This will not affect the product’s retail price (RRP).
Shipping Fees:
Shipping fees vary depending on the destination. We offer free shipping on orders that meet a specified minimum as a token of appreciation for your trust. All orders are shipped from Barcelona. Please refer to the attached table for rates and conditions based on your location.
Order Processing:
At Daring Light, we handle each order with the dedication it deserves. However, as the volume of orders has grown over time, and since we remain a small, committed, and artisanal team, we have had to adapt our system in order to maintain the level of service that defines us.
For this reason, we have introduced the Priority Handling option—an additional service that allows your order to bypass the regular preparation queue and be handled with priority by our team.
This service comes with a small extra cost and does not affect the shipping method or delivery policies of the courier companies, but it does guarantee prioritized preparation within our perfumery.
Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next working day, following the order in which they were received—provided we have enough time. Orders with Priority Handling take precedence and will be prepared before others, even during periods of high workload.

During the month of August, shipments will only be made on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Saturday delivery is available (on non-holiday Saturdays), but please note that we need sufficient time to prepare your order. Orders for Saturday delivery must be placed before Friday and meet our preparation timelines. If placing your order on a Friday, please contact us in advance to check if it’s still possible to process it in time. Available only within mainland Spain.
Order Preparation Protocol:
At Daring Light, each order is handled with individual care, following a process designed to balance efficiency with the artisanal attention we dedicate to our craft.
Orders are prepared according to the following criteria:

Order age: Orders are processed chronologically, starting with the oldest.

Order contents:

Orders that do not include our handcrafted samples (created by Daring Light in 1.5 ml, 2 ml, or 5 ml formats) are prioritized over those that do.

This is due to the additional time required to prepare these samples, as they are carefully handcrafted one by one.

Specific requests for free samples: Orders that include specific requests for free samples may experience a slight delay compared to those that do not, to ensure that these preferences are fulfilled in accordance with our Sample Policy.

Priority handling: Orders marked with Priority Handling at checkout are moved to the top of the preparation queue, regardless of the above criteria.
Please note: During periods of high demand, preparation times may vary slightly. If you need your order as soon as possible, we strongly recommend selecting the Priority Handling option at checkout to ensure your order is given precedence.
This system allows us to manage our workflow fairly and transparently, while ensuring that each order receives the care and attention it deserves.
Order Tracking:
You will receive a tracking number as soon as your order is prepared, allowing you to monitor its status in real time.
Orders with Backordered or Pre-order Items:
If your order includes reserved items, it will be shipped once the order is complete. In general, orders with backordered items are shipped within 3 to 4 days from receipt of the order, except for new releases that have a specific launch date.
Returns:
We accept returns within 14 days of receiving your order, as long as the products are returned in their original, unopened, and unused condition. If you wish to make a return, it is essential to contact us beforehand.
- Shipping costs for voluntary returns will be borne by the customer. For approved returns, you can choose between a store credit or a refund to the original payment method, deducting shipping costs, even if shipping was free.
- In the event of an issue with delivery, such as a customer reporting that they have not received their order, but we have proof of delivery from the courier service, a refund will not be issued. However, a replacement shipment may be arranged if, after resolving the matter with the courier service, the claim is found to be valid in favor of the customer.
Special Cases:
In situations where shipping costs are disproportionately high, we may opt not to proceed with the shipment. We will inform you and seek a suitable solution.
Presentation and Care:
We take great care in the presentation of your order, which is carefully packed in our custom boxes. Additionally, we take photos of all orders before shipping to ensure they are in perfect condition.
