Marina Barcenilla, a Spanish independent perfumer, native of La Rioja and residing in London, merges her passion for astrobiology and scientific research with the art of perfumery. Graduating with honors from the University of London, she has cultivated her perfumery skills independently, becoming a mentor and trainer of new talents.

In 2011, she founded The Perfume Garden, a small artisanal perfumery aiming to revive traditional ways of creating fragrances. Subsequently, she initiated her project AromAtom, dedicated to disseminating science and bringing astrobiology closer to the general public. In this project, she composes fragrances representing the scents of the solar system and our galaxy, using synthetic molecules to create unique olfactory concepts.

Marina, a profound connoisseur of natural and molecular perfumery, has received various international awards, notably two Fragrance Foundation awards for the best independent fragrance. Her unique integration of perfumery with her scientific life, creating fragrances based on science, has allowed her to teach space science in museums and educational centers worldwide, from Houston to the Natural History Museum in London, as well as at conferences at the Lunar & Planetary Institute and NASA in the U.S.
