ORIENTAL OLFACTORY FAMILY
The Oriental name encompasses all fragrances that contain significant doses of notes associated with vanilla, sweet-smelling resins, opoponax, tonka bean, amber, or myrrh. In addition to the use of molecules to increase its effect such as vanillin, or Ethyl Vanillin. The birth of this family, was the creation of Jicky, a Guerlain perfume from 1889.
Within this olfactory family, there are several subgroups, such as Oriental Vanilla, Oriental Spicy, Oriental Woody, Oriental Green and Oriental Gustatory.
Many of these perfumes inspire a Victorian era.
