CHYPRE OLFACTORY FAMILY
The island of Cyprus, for centuries has been the center of commerce for aromatic products from the East.
In 1917, Coty created the fragrance he called Chypre, based on oak moss and jasmine, and an important presence of animal notes. It was the birth of this olfactory family, since many other perfumers created fragrances later, based on the incorporation of flowers and woods, and oak moss predominated. In addition to that basic formulation, fragrances made with a similar accord consisting of bergamot, oakmoss, patchouli, and labdanum are included.
