Description
When Art is inside you, you just have to let it out. And that is what Renier Rodríguez Méndez has felt throughout his life.
Settled in Europe, specifically in Spain during 2007 and 2008, he met Daniel Josier, and that was when he exploited the hidden energy to create his own brand of perfumery, Renier Perfumes, with a unique background, joining his paintings and brushstrokes with the creation of perfumes or vice versa.
A perfume inspired by the image of an oil painting of the same name, which you can enjoy in the tranquillity of our Gallery.
Cacique is a fragrance inspired by the life of the leader and warrior of the Cuban Taino Indians, the chief of the tribe, to whom all honours were paid.
From the outset the fragrance conveys a sense of power and that it will not be a fragrance for everyone.
The neroli itself and the pine wood balance the sweetness of the composition by adding a subtle liquorice perception that ties in nicely with the heart notes.
Once the perfume begins to dry down, Indian oud takes centre stage, accompanied by sandalwood.
Waves of incense and vetiver will follow, while the orris will bring a dirty, dry and wild note. This emphasises that sense of power and primitivism present in the Indian peoples of the Caribbean.
In the base of the perfume, we find again the presence of oud, but this time it is Cambodian, softer and sweeter due to the presence of musk and vanilla.
During colonialism, many chieftains were killed at the stake. As this perfume is a historical portrait of an Indian leader, a touch of burnt caramel has been added to the composition to emphasise the dramatic end of the people who perished.
Top notes: labdanum, juniper berries, Siberian pine wood, pink pepper and neroli.
Heart notes: Indian oud, sandalwood, orris, jasmine, patchouli, vetiver and incense.
Base notes: vanilla, Cambodian oud, caramel, raspberry and musk.
